News-hungry travelers this summer will start noticing a new perk in
Hilton hotels when they use their laptop, iPad or other devices to go
online.Today, Hilton Worldwide and USA TODAY announced that
they've agreed to a multiyear deal that will give Hilton customers
24-hour-a-day access to news and local information from Gannett
publications including USA TODAY, as well as entertainment, books,
magazines, games and other content.
Hilton's most frequent customers - the top-tier members of Hilton
HHonors loyalty program - will receive exclusive access to online
entertainment."Hilton Worldwide stays at the forefront of the
hospitality industry by understanding the needs of our guests," said
Paul Brown, president, brands and commercial services for Hilton
Worldwide. "Staying current with emerging trends and technologies is
something our guests not only demand, but deserve – and our alliance
with USA TODAY helps in that progression."
Travelers staying in
Hilton, Conrad, Embassy Suites and other Hilton-brand hotels, such as
Hilton Garden Inn, will begin to see the new guest portal offerings this
summer, although the full roll-out will happen this fall, said Dave
Hunke, chairman of USA TODAY.
